Marburg Women's Academy
The Women's Academy is a labor market policy measure according to Section 16 Paragraph 1 SGB II in conjunction with Section 45 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 No. 1 SGB III for up to 60 women in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district [at the Marburg location], from July 31, 2025 to December 31, 2026.
Target group
Women aged 18-60, both close to and distant from the labor market, residing in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district, who generally meet the eligibility requirements for benefits under the German Social Code (SGB II) or the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG). [This includes clients distant from the labor market in special situations with multiple barriers to integration, women close to the labor market who only need application support, and women (including single parents or caregivers) with difficulties balancing family and career.] For the first time, the lecture and workshop program is aimed at interested women from the district.
Goals
The primary goal of the program is to integrate participants into employment subject to social insurance contributions. Through intensive counseling, support, and information, the aim is to reduce barriers to integration to at least the extent that employment becomes possible.
If the primary goal of taking up employment or training is not yet possible, further vocational qualifications can be made available for orientation purposes.
The self-esteem, personal responsibility, autonomy and self-learning competence of the participants should be strengthened on the basis of empowerment and through the academy character, and synergy effects should be achieved.
Content & Services
The topics will be worked on in group sessions, individual sessions and during a company trial through a visit to the participants’ “workplace”.
Each customer will have a dedicated female contact person available if desired.
Depending on individual needs, the courses are divided into compulsory and elective modules, in which the classic support measures of a labor market policy measure are reworked and supplemented by lectures and workshops, courses and the use of self-study materials.
The Women's Academy, and especially the meeting café, serves as a meeting place for women. Through the initiation and guided implementation of projects to design the café, the women "create" it and fill it with life.
In the "Digital Learning" area, participants' specific training needs are identified together. Basic skills are taught in a playful way. Furthermore, the extent to which digital media and workplace-based learning can be utilized, including subsequent qualification-oriented continuing education, is examined.
Duration & Course
The individual assignment period is typically four months. Follow-up support for two months, with a reduced number of hours, is possible after consultation with the case manager.
The Women's Academy project is carried out at the Marburg location in combination with the " Vocational Language Training Plus [BQS+] " program.
Financial support
The Hessian Business Education Association runs the Women's Academy, funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, on behalf of the Marburg-Biedenkopf District Job Center.
