Qualification as a pedagogical employee as an additional staff member [QPMZ]

A qualification for people who aspire to a career in the educational field.

Target group

The program is aimed at both native speakers and eligible immigrants with a prospect of remaining in the country who have a strong interest in a teaching career or who have already completed formal training as a teacher, educator, or a comparable profession in their home country. Social and linguistic aptitude will be tested during the information session. Approval from the respective funding agency is required.

Goal

The aim is for participants to find their way into a teaching career through the imparting of theoretical and practical content.

  • In group and individual sessions, we will work with you to help you get started in teaching.
  • We also support you in the recognition of your foreign qualifications.
  • You will learn about employment opportunities in daycare centers, after-school care centers, or schools.
  • Experienced educators expand your pedagogical knowledge, build on your experiences and qualifications and reflect on them together with you.

During several internship phases, you will get to know different educational institutions and have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge and experience.

The QPMZ is carried out at the Wetzlar location in combination with the program " Vocational Language Training Plus [BQS+] ".

Entry & Duration

The continuing education program includes 1,110 teaching units with German language support [suitable for students with a B1 language level or higher]. Without language support [a minimum B2 language level is required], the program comprises 942 teaching units. In both cases, classes take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In addition, both options include 300 hours of observation in daycare centers or schools, divided into two 6-week blocks of 5 hours per day.

Financial support

The individual modules are approved continuing education measures under the AZAV (German Federal Employment Agency) and can be funded through a training voucher from the Federal Employment Agency or your job center. You will need a training voucher for each module.

Employed workers can receive support through the WeGabAU or the Qualification Opportunities Act .
