Qualification as a pedagogical staff member as additional staff [QPMZ]
If you are interested in working with people in the school and education sector, this qualification offers you a quick and sustainable entry into educational fields. The training includes comprehensive pedagogical qualifications that both strengthen your existing skills and specifically develop new pedagogical abilities. This will create the best possible conditions for taking up employment in the educational sector that is subject to social security contributions.
Target audience
This program is aimed at both native speakers and eligible immigrants with a prospect of remaining in Germany who have a strong interest in working in education or who have already completed formal training as a teacher, educator, or in a comparable profession in their home country. We will assess social and linguistic suitability during the information session. Approval from the respective funding agency is required.
Goal
The aim is for participants to find their way into a teaching profession through the teaching of theoretical and practical content.
- Developing an understanding of the German educational landscape
- Expansion of existing pedagogical qualifications
- Development of new pedagogical competence areas as well as pedagogical communication and action skills
- Improvement of vocational language skills [only at QPMZ with German language support]
During several observation phases, you will get to know different educational institutions, and you will have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge and experience.

The QPMZ is carried out at the Wetzlar site in combination with the program " Vocational Qualifying Language Support Plus [BQS+] ".
Entry & Duration
The professional development course, including German language support (suitable for individuals with a B1 level or higher), comprises 1,110 teaching units. Without language support (minimum B2 level required), the course comprises 942 teaching units. In both cases, classes are held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Both options also include 300 hours of observation in daycare centers or schools, divided into two 6-week blocks of 5 hours per day.

Financial support
The training measures are AZAV-certified and can be funded via an education voucher from the Federal Employment Agency or the Job Center.
Employed workers can receive support through the Qualification Opportunities Act .
