In-house rehabilitation through retraining [IRU]

A sound vocational training is an important prerequisite for career success and the best insurance against unemployment. With in-house rehabilitation through retraining [IRU], we support you on your path to a new career.

You are undertaking retraining in a recognized apprenticeship occupation. To help you get started with learning, we offer a preparatory course (RVL) to refresh your academic knowledge. During the RVL, we will support you in choosing a retraining occupation that is appropriate for your health situation and will work with you to find a suitable training company near your home.

During your on-the-job retraining, we offer job-specific support and are available to advise and assist you and your employer. Retraining within a regular company increases your career prospects.

Target audience

The IRU is aimed at people with health impairments who are unable to continue their learned profession or their most recent occupation due to health reasons. Participation requires approval from the responsible rehabilitation funding agency.

Duration & Course

The RVL extends over 13 weeks and takes place in advance of the usually two-year company retraining program.
