Rehabilitation-specific training for people with disabilities [Rehab Training]

Vocational training for people with disabilities and special educational needs [rehabilitation training] enables young people who, due to their disability, would be unable to begin or successfully complete vocational training without support, to start a suitable apprenticeship. The practical training takes place in authorized partner companies. The Hessian Business Education Association (BWHW), as the training provider, acquires these companies and offers remedial and supplementary instruction as well as socio-educational support.

Target audience

The offer is aimed at young people and young adults under 25 who are looking for an apprenticeship and who require special assistance due to their disability.

Goals

Content & Services

• Search for a suitable partner company
• Overall organizational responsibility and coordination of training content
• Guidance and support in the learning environments of the workplace and vocational school
• Support and remedial lessons tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, in small groups, to catch up on vocational school material and address existing knowledge gaps.

Duration & Course

The apprenticeship typically begins at the start of the academic year. The duration depends on the specific apprenticeship occupation.

Financial support

Funding is provided by the Federal Employment Agency and/or providers of basic income support.
