Excellent quality in basic education

Business training institutions are awarded the quality seal for basic training in the workplace

On November 8, 2023, the time had come again: Five business training centers were awarded the Basic Training for the Workplace Seal of Quality. For the first time, the Saxon Business Training Center (Bildungswerk der Sächsischen Wirtschaft e. V.) received the seal of quality for its activities in the field of work-oriented basic training. Four other business training centers also entered the third round: After the training centers from Lower Saxony, Hesse, Thuringia, and Baden-Württemberg were already awarded the seal of quality in 2017 and 2020, they were able to once again demonstrate their high quality in the implementation of low-threshold continuing education programs tailored to company needs in the recertification process.

With this year's award, seven business-related educational institutions now hold the distinction. Prof. Dr. Axel Plünnecke, Head of the Education, Innovation, and Migration Cluster at the Cologne Institute for Economic Research, congratulated the representatives from the educational institutions on their success.

The Basic Education for the Workplace quality seal is an initiative of the AlphaGrund Networked project and the German Business Association of Educational Institutions (ADBW e.V.). It contributes to ensuring the quality standards of target-specific basic education programs, supporting the perception of the topic as a worthwhile tool for personnel development, and making basic education a long-term component of continuing education for both semi-skilled and unskilled workers.
