Anchor KomPo

The Education Association of the Hessian Economy e. V. has been supporting Hessian schools in the introduction of digital competence assessments for career orientation with the project “KomPo verankern” since 2009.

While the competency assessment KomPo7 is aimed at schools with the educational tracks Hauptschule and Realschule as well as special schools with a focus on learning, the competency assessment KomPoG represents a comprehensive offer for Hessian grammar schools [incl. IGS/KGS] from the school year 2022/2023.

The KomPo7 and KomPoG competency assessments provide students with a systematic introduction to career and university guidance within the school setting. The results of these assessments help students, their parents, and teachers prepare for subsequent career orientation activities, such as internships, workshops, or taster days.

The KomPo app is used to implement the KomPo7 and KomPoG competency assessments as digital procedures in schools. The app is an online application that helps students explore their strengths and career interests, while also relieving teachers of some of the documentation burden.

Target audience

The project's services are aimed at Hessian schools, their teachers, and students. The target group includes, in particular, schools offering Hauptschule (lower secondary school) and Realschule (intermediate secondary school) tracks, special education schools focusing on learning disabilities, and Gymnasiums (grammar schools) [including IGS/KGS].

Goals

The project focuses on introducing and implementing the KomPo procedures in Hessian schools to strengthen students' career orientation. Through a comprehensive professional development program, teachers are qualified to implement KomPo7 and KomPoG and simultaneously trained to integrate career orientation into their lessons. The goal is to offer students an early and systematic introduction to career orientation.

Duration & Course

The BWHW will support schools in implementing the competency assessments KomPo7 and KomPoG until December 31, 2024. The free project services and training courses can be accessed on an ongoing basis.
