Fit for the job

The "Fit for Career" project offers school-age young people in the "vocational preparatory courses" at the vocational school as well as students with a migrant background or school-weary young people individual and tailored support for a successful entry into working life.

Target group

  • Graduates of general education schools and special schools without a successful transition tendency into vocational preparation courses [BzB]
  • Disadvantaged young people and young people with a migration background who require language support

Goals

The project provides young people who have problems in the transition from school to work with targeted and individual support and assistance in order to increase their motivation for vocational qualification and to promote their training ability and readiness for training.

Content & Services

The project, in close cooperation with the Kerschensteiner School, the school's social work department, the Competence Agency, and the Youth Case Management of the state capital Wiesbaden, offers individualized support services for young people. These include:

  • outreach social work
  • Parent work
  • Individual coaching
  • company internships for career orientation
  • Inter-company practical training to introduce you to everyday working life
  • group work
  • Lessons to enable the secondary school leaving certificate

The FiB project is carried out in combination with the " Vocational Language Training Plus [BQS+] " program.

Duration & Course

The project starts with the 2024/25 school year and ends with the beginning of the 2025 summer holidays.
