Fit for the job

The "Fit for the Job" project offers individual and tailored support to school-age young people in "vocational preparation courses" at vocational school, as well as students with a migration background or school-weary young people, for a successful start to working life.

Target audience

  • Graduates of general education schools and special education schools without a successful transition to vocational preparation programs [BzB]
  • Disadvantaged young people as well as young people with a migration background and language support needs

Goals

The project provides targeted and individual support and assistance to young people who have problems in the transition from school to work, in order to increase their motivation for vocational qualification and to promote their ability and readiness for vocational training.

Content & Services

The project, in close cooperation with EVIM gGmbH, school social work services, the skills agency, and the youth case management department of the city of Wiesbaden, offers individualized support services for young people. Specifically, this includes:

  • outreach social work
  • Parental involvement
  • Individual coaching
  • Company internships for career orientation
  • Inter-company practical training to introduce trainees to everyday work life
  • Group work
  • Lessons to enable students to obtain a secondary school leaving certificate

The FiB project is being carried out in combination with the program " Vocational Qualifying Language Support Plus [BQS+] ".

Duration & Course

The project will start with the 2025/26 school year and end with the start of the summer holidays in 2026.
