About the mobility consulting services of the Hessian economy

With the project "Working and Learning in Europe – Mobility Consulting for Hessian Businesses," we aim to increase the number of international internships undertaken by Hessian trainees and young professionals. International internships during vocational training or employment enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and the attractiveness of dual vocational training. This project expands our consulting services for companies, trainees, and young professionals.

Target audience

The project is aimed at businesses, trainees and young professionals, educational institutions and training providers.

Goals

The offer aims to increase the number of company-sponsored internships abroad for Hessian trainees and young professionals.

Content & Services

For trainees

  • Advice on all topics and questions related to education and career-related stays abroad
  • Support in decision-making
  • Clarification of financing and funding opportunities
  • Information on legal frameworks (Not legal advice!)
  • Support with communication with the training company and vocational school or employer.
  • Intercultural preparation

For training companies and vocational schools

  • Consulting on the internationalization of vocational training and increasing the attractiveness of dual training.
  • Clarification of financing and funding opportunities
  • Advice on applying for your own Erasmus+ places
  • Consulting and support in establishing permanent collaborations with foreign partners based on the cross-mobility approach*

*In a cross-mobility program, two trainees exchange their training company at the same time.

The project “Working and Learning in Europe - Mobility Consulting for the Hessian Economy” is being carried out jointly with the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main Chamber of Skilled Crafts, the Kassel Chamber of Skilled Crafts and the Marburg Office for Work and Education.

Duration & Course

The current funding period is from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027.

During the project period from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025, the BWHW mobility advisory service advised 171 trainees and organized 93 placements in 16 countries. Approximately € 155,643 in scholarship funding was converted into international professional experience.

Financial support

The mobility consulting service for Hessian businesses is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas and the European Union – European Social Fund.
