First Step [Plus] - Entry into nursing professions

This project is aimed at people with and without a migration background who are seeking employment in the care sector that is subject to social security contributions. We prepare participants for the requirements of the job, both theoretically and practically, and support them as they enter the profession.

Target audience

Anyone who is interested in nursing professions – with or without prior professional training.

Goals

The qualification program serves as an entry point into a career in the nursing sector for interested individuals, as well as a basis for further qualifications in the field of nursing and/or elderly care.

Content & Services

• Fundamentals of nursing in theory and practice
• Medical basics
• Application coaching
• Company internships
• Optional, if needed: Job-related language support & communication training
• Qualification as a care worker according to §§ 43b, 53b SGB XI

Duration & Course

The project starts on August 17, 2026 and ends on March 2, 2027.

Classes take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. [with language support] or from 10:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. [without language support]. Internships are full-time.

Financial support

Participation is possible via an education voucher [issued by the case managers of the job center or employment advisors of the employment agency].
