Career Orientation Program [BOP] - practice-oriented BO days
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research's career orientation program is aimed at seventh- and eighth-grade students. Following a potential analysis to identify strengths, students can explore various career fields and gain practical experience during career orientation days in the practical rooms of the Hessian Business Education Center.
Target group
The practice-oriented BO days are aimed at pupils from secondary schools, intermediate schools and special schools in the seventh and eighth grades who have previously taken part in a competency assessment/potential analysis [e.g. competency assessment of the Main-Taunus district] and want to try out selected professional fields in practice.
Goals
- practical introduction to several professional fields
- Promoting initial realistic ideas about the professional world
- Promoting individual interests and strengths
- Preparation for career decisions
- Promoting practical experience
Content & Services
The results of the interests identified in the potential analyses can be tested in professional practice, e.g. in the following professional fields:
- Building
- sale
- metal
- Hotel/Restaurant
- Wood
- Painter/Varnisher
Duration & Course
Interested schools can contact the Bildungswerk der Hessischen Wirtschaft eV (Hessian Business Education Center). The practice-oriented BO days take place over 5-10 consecutive days in the BWHW's practice rooms/workshops.
