Qualified training support in the company and vocational school - QuABB

The Qualified Training Support in Company and Vocational School [QuABB] helps trainees, companies, vocational schools and parents to recognize problems in training at an early stage and helps to avert impending training dropouts through professional advice and support.

Goals

QuABB aims to ensure the successful continuation of training through individual support or – should this no longer be possible – to develop a viable follow-up perspective.

Content & Services

The training support service provides assistance with

• Difficulties at work, in vocational school, and in one's private life,
• Conflict situations in training,
• the management of crises,
• the search for joint solutions with all stakeholders such as parents, vocational school, chamber of commerce, employment agency/job center, counseling centers,
• Coordination and organization of individual aid and support services.

The consultation is always confidential and free of charge.

Results

Thanks to the Qualified Training Support in Companies and Vocational Schools [QuABB] program, a large number of apprenticeship dropouts have been prevented in recent years. At the same time, the advisors have succeeded in helping participants who have dropped out of apprenticeships find new training companies or generate other effective solutions.

By involving teachers, parents/guardians, or through individual consultations, crises were overcome and challenges were met. In this way, many young people were able to benefit from the work of the training mentors and continue their lives and education.

In the Odenwald district, the success rate of all counselling services provided in the 2024/2025 school year was 83%.

In the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg and the city of Darmstadt, the figure was even 84% during the same period.

QuABB is funded by the European Union – European Social Fund and the State of Hesse.
