EuroMobility pool project

The ERASMUS+ pool project "EuroMobility" offers trainees from all over Germany the opportunity to complete a four- to six-week internship abroad. Twenty scholarships are awarded, enabling trainees to expand their international professional skills, competitiveness, and foreign language skills, as well as to familiarize themselves with the work processes of the target country.

Target group

Trainees who are undergoing vocational training in accordance with the HwO/BBiG.

Content & Services

The internship abroad is intensively prepared, supervised, and followed up by the staff of the Bildungswerk der Hessischen Wirtschaft e.V. (Hessian Business Education Center). Depending on the needs, the program will work with the trainees to find an internship placement in the desired country. The internship plan is coordinated with the respective training occupation, with the approval of the company, the vocational school, and possibly the relevant chamber of commerce, before the start of the internship.

How long?
Usually between 4 to 6 weeks.

When?
At any time between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2021.

Where?
Partners in France, Poland, Ireland, Malta, and Spain. Other EU countries, as well as Norway and Iceland, are available upon request.

Financial support?
Country-dependent subsidy for travel expenses, accommodation and meals.

Participation requirements

Apprentices from the fields of business/administration, logistics, electrical engineering, metal/mechanical and automotive engineering, the service industry and many other sectors and professional fields can participate, provided that they

  • are in vocational training according to HwO/BBiG, e.g. in the fields of business/administration, logistics, electrical engineering, metal/mechanical and automotive engineering, the service industry and many other sectors and professional fields,
  • have already passed the intermediate examination or part 1 of the extended final examination,
  • Have English and/or basic knowledge of the language of the target country,
  • have the consent of the vocational school,
  • have the consent of the training company (must not be considered as vacation) and the training allowance continues to be paid.

Application process

Applications can be submitted at any time, but a preparation period of at least three to four months should be planned before the stay abroad. During this time, individual language and intercultural training will take place.

Applications sent to euromobility@bwhw.de and containing the following documents will be considered:

  • Letter of motivation
  • Europass CV [ online ]
  • Last vocational school certificate
  • Written consent of the training company

The second step in the application process is a personal or telephone interview.
