SOPHIA is aimed at women who need support in developing career prospects. We provide individual support to participants on their path to employment, training, or further education. In doing so, we strengthen personal skills, digital abilities, and confidence in their own potential.

Target audience

The project is aimed at unemployed women aged 18 to 60 in the Lahn-Dill district, particularly the long-term unemployed, those with low qualifications, single mothers, and women facing personal, health, or family challenges. Women with refugee or migration backgrounds and women re-entering the workforce are also part of the target group.

Goals

The goals are the personal stabilization of the participants, the development of a realistic career perspective, the strengthening of digital skills and the transition to work, training or a suitable qualification.

Content & Services

We actively support the participants on their professional path with the following services:

• individual consultation, coaching and skills assessment
• career guidance and development of personal goals
• Application training and support with digital job searching
• Digital literacy and vocational language support
• Operational trials and support in placement
• Workshops on health, resilience, motivation and self-management
• First aid courses, STEM projects and craft opportunities for women
• creative, sustainable and practical projects
• Support with personal challenges and the reconciliation of family and career

Duration & Course

The participants take part in SOPHIA for an average of four months.

The SOPHIA project is being carried out at the locations in Dillenburg and Wetzlar in combination with the program “ Vocational Qualification Language Support Plus [BQS+] ”.

The project is funded under the “IdeA” funding program with funds from the European Union, the State of Hesse and the Lahn-Dill Municipal Job Center.
