Vocational Language Support Plus [BQS+]

The BQS+ program makes it possible to offer high-quality vocational language support as an additional component within or in close connection with qualification measures funded by job centers, employment agencies or within the framework of Hessian labor market promotion, or to improve the quality of the existing language offer of the labor market-related measure.

Target audience

• The target group consists of unemployed adults or those at risk of unemployment, including in particular the long-term unemployed, unskilled and semi-skilled workers, and people with multiple problems.
• The target group also includes disadvantaged young people transitioning from school to work.
• As a general rule, individuals to be supported must have a need for vocational German language support.

Goals

The aim of the funding in BQS+ is to support and promote participants in labor market policy measures in Hesse for better integration into education and work, including the acquisition of German job-related language skills.

Content & Services

• High-quality, vocational language training as a direct part of qualification
• A core element of vocational language support is the conceptual and didactic linking of subject content from the basic measure with elements of language acquisition, including through the use of scenario-based didactics.
• Vocational language support is implemented in three possible forms: team teaching [subject teacher and language teacher jointly conduct subject lessons], language support lessons [additional learning units by language teacher] and supplementary units [e.g. online learning]

Duration and course depend on the underlying basic measure.

The BQS+ project is being carried out in combination with the program “ Vocational Qualification Language Support Plus [BQS+] ”.
