Orientate - Identify Competencies - Integrate
Target group
The OKI (Orientation, Identification of Competencies, Integration) youth social work program supports young refugees aged 16 to 27, regardless of their residence status. It is aimed particularly at those who fall under the legal categories of Social Code Book II, Social Code Book III, Social Code Book VIII, or the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG).
Goals
The goal of the program is to help refugees with individually tailored content, both in vocational preparation and language training. It is based on the development of professional skills and a holistic understanding of competencies to qualify participants for employment or training subject to social insurance contributions. The program's flexibility and focus on the specific needs of participants facilitate the transition into the labor market.
Specific sub-goals include preparation for vocational training or direct entry into the labor market, targeted language support, digital skills training, and the removal of individual barriers. Another important component is the promotion of political education, especially for young people from diverse cultures, in order to develop an understanding of social norms, women's rights, and democracy in Germany.
