Orientation - Identifying Competencies - Integration

Target audience

The OKI (Orientation, Skills Assessment, Integration) program for youth social work supports young refugees aged 16 to 27, regardless of their residency status. It is aimed particularly at those who are covered by the social welfare system under SGB II, SGB III, SGB VIII, or the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG).

Goals

The aim of this program is to help refugees with individually tailored content, both in vocational preparation and language support. It is based on the development of vocational skills and a holistic understanding of competencies, in order to qualify participants for employment subject to social security contributions or for vocational training. The program's flexibility and focus on the specific needs of the participants facilitate their transition into the labor market.

Specific sub-goals include preparation for vocational training or direct entry into the labor market, targeted language support, training in digital skills, and the removal of individual barriers. Another important component is the promotion of political education, particularly for young people from diverse cultural backgrounds, to foster an understanding of social norms, women's rights, and democracy in Germany.

Duration & Course

The planned total duration is 12 months. Places are limited to eight and can be filled at any time if space is available.

The project is funded by the Hessian Ministry for Labour, Integration, Youth and Social Affairs, the Hessian Working World and the social budget.
